Yes, the LSPD offers ride-alongs for civilians under certain conditions. Visit the station and fill out a ride-along request form. Approval is subject to background checks and availability. 

To apply for a firearms license, follow these steps:

1. Visit the LSPD Licensing Division at Vinewood PD to fill out an application.

2. Pay a $5,000 fee for the initial background check 

3. The background check takes approximately 3-5 days to process.

4. If approved, you will be notified to return and pay the final $5,000 fee to receive your firearms license.
